Online portfolios are a subcategory of web design. They have standardized form and function, but they have some of the sharpest, most nuanced critics making them.
This leads to some very creative takes on a basic-but-classic website/CMS set-up. These four platforms all make it easy to set up a portfolio site out of the box, but none of them limit creativity or add boundaries.
While Semplice and Carbonmade are dedicated portfolio platforms, I also included Webflow and WordPress, which have templates and themes for portfolios specifically. Confusingly, Semplice is actually based on WordPress, but it's independent enough to be included separately.
